    I bought this as a permanent power source for my Canon 7D and it works well with that camera. When you turn on the camera after connecting the DC coupler and AC adapter to camera, you will see an error "Cannot communicate with the battery, OK to use this battery?". Make sure to select OK to continue. Except for this annoying message every time the camera is turned on, this adapter kit works fine.
